FAQ
Christmas Lights
UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories®, an “independent product safety certification organization that has been testing products and writing standards for safety for more than a century.” – as explained on the Underwriters Laboratories’ website. A UL listed light means that the product meets the UL’s safety requirements for risks such as fire, electrical and other potential hazards. UL is accredited by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and SCC (Standards Council of Canada). A Christmas light set that is UL listed will have a holographic UL sticker on the cord.
ETL stands for Electrical Testing Laboratories (ETL), ETL is currently a division of Intertek Testing Laboratories. Intertek ETL is, like UL, an OSHA recognized NRTL. Unlike UL, ETL does not publish their own standards; instead, they test parts and components to the published standards of other NRTLs, including ASME, ASTM, and, of course, UL. Products that are ETL Listed have been tested at an ETL laboratory and found to meet all applicable Standards for Safety published by relevant NRTLs.
For Low Voltage christmas lights with adapter, it will be UL listed adapter or ETL listed adapter, instead of full light set.
This is for products for the US market.
CSA® is Canadian Standards Association, a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory accredited by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). They test products to the same U.S. Standards as ANSI (American National Standards Institute), UL (Underwriters Laboratories), and SCC (Standards Council of Canada). A CSA certification on a light set means that product meets CSA safety requirements for risks such as fire, electrical, and other potential hazards.
cUL is the safety standards for Canada which UL evaluates, based on the standards that are published by CSA LINTEC.
cETL is the safety standards certified and tested for use in Canada, indicate that the products are assessed and conform to the required Canadian national safety standard.
A Christmas light set that is CSA or cUL or cETL certified will have a CSA or cUL or cETL sticker on the cord.
For Low Voltage christmas lights with adapter, it will be CSA listed adapter or cUL listed adapter or cETL listed adapter, instead of full light set.
This is for products for Canadian market.
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. LEDs are constructed from tiny solid-state chips similar to those used in computers. These chips directly convert electricity to light without the use of a filament or glass bulb. These chips are encased in solid plastic that can be molded into a variety of shapes and sizes.
LEDs are a more modern technology and more efficient, thus saving energy. LEDs cost more but they are an investment, so incandesecent bulbs are not cheaper in the overall scheme of savings.
LED lights have many benefits when compared to regular incandescent lighting. LED lights generate very little heat, so a much higher percentage of electrical power is going directly to generating light, which cuts down considerably on the electricity demand. It is estimated that using LED lights saves the consumer 80-90% in electricity over incandescent counterparts. The cooler LED’s also make for a safer way to decorate, reducing fire risk (although for safety reasons, you should always unplug lights when unsupervised). LED’s plastic casings are nearly unbreakable, and their injection-molded design makes them watertight and tamper-proof. The LED’s are also very long-lasting, expected life being conservatively estimated at 50,000 hours while a regular incandescent light bulb burns about 1,000-2,000 hours. LED’s cost more initially than regular incandescent lights, but they also last longer than incandescent lights and save a lot of electricity. Some people will still prefer the look of regular incandescent lights over the LED lights. Sometimes there is a bit of inconsistency in the color of LED lights, though as the technology advances, the colors continuously become more consistent.
Yes, LEDs are cool to the touch due to advanced technology.
C9 bulb measure just under 3″, while C7 bulb are just over 2″, base to tip. The bulbs are similar in look, though C9 bulbs are used for a retro appearance while C7 bulbs are more modern.
You can buy light clips at your local store.
The Christmas lights and the connectors are waterproof if the unit claimed it can be used outdoor. Warm reminder the indoor used unit be placed outdoor will void the warranty.
Please follow the claims specified on the package or instruction manual in case the light string is connectable.
Yes, the rest of lights will stay lit in case one bulb burns out.
Depending on the LED, the bulb may last from 30,000 hours to 200,000 hours as compared to the 3,000 hours of an incandescent light. LEDs are also more durable and do not burn out, thus lasting longer than incandescents.
We do not recommend adding extra electrical devices to the tree as it may cause the fuses to overload. The use of any adapters on the tree will void the warranty.
There is no perfect method for determining how many Christmas lights are needed for a tree, as there are many factors to be considered, such as what style/size of light you’ll be using (you need more mini lights, for example, than C9 style lights), what type of tree you’re decorating (evergreen as opposed to bare branch), the density of foliage, and personal preference (some people prefer more lights than others).
- Make sure the transformer and plug of light set is well connected. Or disconnect it, then connect again.
- Please replace the batteries in time and check all batteries are inserted with correct polarity. If it’s color changing lights, if the battery is low, not all LED colors will be displayed and may only show red color. This indicates that batteries should be replaced and is not the lights malfunctioning.
Not all of our LED Christmas lights are fully dimmable, please follow the claims specified on the package or instruction manual.
The majority of the LED Christmas lights we sell do not have removable or replaceable Christmas light bulbs. One of the great advantages of LED bulbs, is that they last much longer than incandescent lights.
No. Our LED Christmas light strings cannot be cut to length. If the light set is cut it will not work and all warranties will be void.
Yes, Can use the extension cords on the Christmas lights in case you can find the extension cords with connector matching our lights. Reminder the use of extension cords on the Christmas lights will void the warranty.
First, please check if the Christmas lights has this function. If not, please make sure the connectors between light string and plug are well connected. Or disconnect the product and plug, then connect again. If any more questions, please check with the store from which you purchased.
The remote control requires a single CR2032 3V battery. This is a flat, disc-shaped battery that looks similar to a watch battery.
Please pull out the clear plastic tab before using; In case the remote is still not working, please replace with new batteries in time.
No, we do not recommend to cut the rope light, and it will void the warranty.
There is no magical formula; it all depends of your imagination. We recommend setting your projector approximately 15-20 feet back from the projection surface. Feel free to adjust this distance to suit your preferences. However, please follow the information stated on the package or instruction manual.
No, it plugs into any standard power outlet. please follow the information posted on the package or instruction manual.
All Christmas lights are for seasonal use only. Limited warranty as stated in the packaging or check with the store from which you purchased.
Inflatable
Under normal conditions, an inflatable should begin inflating automatically as soon as it’s plugged in. If it has animation or motion, these actions should also begin upon plug in. If not, please check the following:
- LEVEL SURFACE:
Ensure the inflatable is on a level surface. - FAN(S) SETUP:
Make sure all fans are level and plugged directly into a wall outlet or a heavy-duty outdoor extension cord. - FAN INPUT/OUTPUT:
Check the intake vent to ensure it is not obstructed by fabric or grass. The output vent (exiting the inflation fan) should also be clear of any fabric or foreign object. - ZIPPER(S):
All zippers must be completely zipped for your inflatable to inflate properly. Each piece may have more than one zipper depending on the item design. Check for hidden zippers in the seams. Please double-check to make sure all zippers are completely closed. - ADAPTORS:
Unplug your inflatable to check the adapter connection. There is a small groove on the adapter plug that matches a raised notch on the inside of the adapter port. Make sure the adapter is connected so that the notch slides securely into the groove. Plug the inflatable back into the wall outlet.
Operation of your inflatable during normal and light weather conditions, such as a gentle rain or snowfall, is recommended. However, operation of your inflatable during extreme weather conditions such as heavy snow, rain or windstorms is not recommended, as it may become over weighted and damage the inflatable. Please follow the following precautions for inclement or freezing weather conditions:
- FREEZING TEMPERATURES:
inflatables will operate at temperatures below freezing. However, we do not recommend operating the item if temperatures drop below 14° Fahrenheit (-10° Celsius). - HARSH WINDS/STORMS:
Operation of your inflatable during extreme weather conditions, such as harsh winds and storms, is not recommended, as your item may become damaged or inundated with moisture. - SNOW/ICE:
If your inflatable is covered in a light dusting of snow while deflated, simple reinflation should not harm the item. If the deflated item has been subjected to a large amount of snow and/or ice, do NOT attempt to reinflate. Rather, carefully remove the item from the extreme condition (i.e. bring it indoors) and allow it to thaw and dry out thoroughly before reinflating. We do not recommend leaving an inflatable out for days or weeks at a time if you expect large and heavy snowfall to build up. - HEAVY RAINFALL/MELTING SNOW:
If your inflatable has become soaked with water from a heavy rainfall or melted snow and you are having trouble inflating it, move the unit to a dry location, if there is a large amount of water, open the zipper closest to the soaked area and drain the water. Dry out the fan thoroughly before re-inflating. - ATTENTION:
The inflatable must be kept dry when it’s turned off. DO NOT store the inflatable while wet. Please allow it to dry completely before storing.

However, If the deflated item has been subjected to a large amount of snow and/or ice, do NOT attempt to reinflate. Rather, carefully remove the item from the extreme condition (i.e. bring it indoors) and allow it to thaw and dry thoroughly before reinflating. This helps prevent cracks and/or tears in the materials.
Move the inflatable to a dry location and dry out the fan & inflatable thoroughly, then store it or plug in to re-inflate.
Check the adapter if its opertaing. Do the lights turn on? If not, please try plugging it into other outlets as well, in case that socket is faulty. You can use multimeter to check in case you are a licensed or qualified electrician.
Make sure all zippers are zipped before inflate, there may be more than one zipper depending on the item design. Sometimes there are zippers that are hidden in the seams. If you have a globe, sometimes there are zipper on the characters inside of the globe. Please double check to make sure all zippers are closed.
The inflatable is placed on a level surface and all other assembly instructions have been followed properly.
Check the fans are level, the air intake of fan not be obstructed by loose grass/leaves or other particles or debris, the output vent (exiting the inflation fan) is not obstructed by fabric or any other foreign object and the fan was not submerged in water or wet.
You can run your inflatable during the day and at night. However, the product is for seasonal use only, we recommend that you turn off your inflatable when leaving the immediate area and when retiring for the evening. Otherwise it voids the limited warranty.
Your inflatable will not stay inflated unless it is plugged in and the fan is blowing air.
It uses about as much energy as a standard string of holiday lights. Please refer to the electrical approval label for wattage.
Please try plugging it into other outlets as well, in case that socket is faulty. Or use another blowup plug with same rating wattage to try on our unit to check if it can be work great.
Make sure the fan was not submerged in water or wet. If it is wet, please let it dry off before using again.
Please make sure if tightened the screw connecting the adapter plug to the wire. Check that the wire cable has not been damaged. Some accounts of small animals who like to chew on the cords. Also yanking on the cord to move the product around or rough handling by passing kids kicking/punching/manhandling the inflatable can also cause the wire to break or disconnect and the seams to break.
Please follow our installation instruction and make sure you are a licensed or qualified electrician or has access to one to replace the fan.
Please ensure there are no debris that has entered the fan motor by accident, causing the loudness. Gently remove the debris if this is the case.
Rips or holes in your inflatable can be sewn by hand (no special thread is required) or taped with clear packing tape. You can also use tent repair tape to patch your inflatable, which can be found at most sporting goods stores.
Check the adapter if its opertaing. If the adapter works well, sometimes the air intake maybe blocked by loose grass/leaves or other particles. Gently shake, knock or tap the motor and see if it will operate again.

Tree
Trees are typically made from PVC, but some premium styles use Polyethylene (PE).
- PVC:
Most branches are made of a flat material cut into narrow strips and attached to a metal wire. This is the most common film style tip. Another special PVC material is tinsel effect, which offers a reflective property. Can be used exclusively on a tree or mixed with common PVC film to give a glittery look to the product. Also PVC made Pine needle, create “needle look” tips. - PE (polyethylene):
An injection molded tip, more realistic tips in appearance than PVC tips, and molds are created from real trees. - There are trees with decorations that are made of various materials as well.
It depends on the design of the artificial tree, there are some types of tips treatment and decorations used on the artificial tree.
- Cashmere tip:
A tip treated to fray the ends of the individual needles giving a softer appearance. - Dew drops:
A tip treatment where a clear resin is applied on tip ends to give the appearance of dew collecting on the end of the tip. - Flocking:
A white (or colored) snow-like material applied to the tip of the entire tree to give the impression of snow accumulation. The flocking is non-toxic to humans and animals. - Glittering:
A tip treatment where the glitter is applied on tip ends to give the appearance of glittering on the tip or the end of the tip. - Snow-tipped:
A tip treated to white sprayed the ends of the individual needles giving a snow effect. - Berries:
Artificial holly-like berries that can be applied to the tips as an accessory. The berries come in a number of sizes and colors. - Grapevine:
Real grapevine can be woven into the tip to add another element of realism. Since grape vines are made from natural materials, containers that store these products must be fumigated, which adds cost. - Pine cones:
Real pine cones (various sizes) can be attached to individual tips to give the appearance of realism. As the cones are natural, containers that store these products must usually be fumigated, which adds cost.
Flocking is a mix of a cotton based material and glue that creates a snow-like mixture, some snowy effect tree material could be styrofoam pellets or sprayed paint or cotton based material. It is not toxic for children or pets and meets all U.S. and EU safety standards.
Pre-lit tree is sold with lights already attached to the branches. Un-lit tree is sold without lights.
Hinged construction trees: This is a tree construction where each branch is attached to the tree and can move up and down to facilitate easy packing and setup. Most pre-lit trees (except small, one-piece trees) are hinged construction. It is the most expensive construction type because of labor and additional parts.
Hooked construction trees: This less-expensive construction requires that each branch must be manually attached to the tree trunk via a hook. This is more time consuming for the consumer, but this construction enables individual branches to be packed carefully to avoid damage.
Wrapped construction trees: The least-expensive construction features branches that are wrapped around the tree trunk to hold it in place. These trees look the least like live trees and can be easily damaged with packing and unpacking because the branch must be put back into position each time. Typically uses this type of construction on small trees.
Yes. The materials used to manufacture the Christmas trees are flame retardant and should not become a fire accelerator. Follow the safety guidelines included with the user manual for proper setup and maintenance.
It’s manufactured in various factories in Asia.
A tree’s profile is the overall shape of the tree. For instance, a full profile tree is thicker than a pencil profile tree. Profiles are defined as Full, Medium, Slender, and Pencil, going from thickest to thinnest.
Pre-Shaped tree is the tree when the branches have memory wire and need minimum effort to shape.
Assembly instructions are provided with your tree. To obtain another copy of the instruciton manual, please inquire through the store from which you purchased for further queries.
Trees need to be “shaped” or “fluffed” in order to look their best. After assembling the tree according to the instruction manual, you should take each branch and separate each tip and shape them in such a way to spread out the tips and give the tree a ‘full’ look. You can refer to the third party video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0N0NPrefhY&feature=emb_logo
Note: This is a Youtube posted link, it’s not a Garden & Lights video and Garden & Lights has no rights to this video. Just for reference only.
When you unpack your Christmas tree, it won’t look like the picture on the box. That’s because your new tree just hasn’t been “fluffed” or “shaped” to its full potential like the tree on the box. Artificial tree branches that have been packed get very flat and compressed so that all the tips are pointing in the same direction, this is going to cause the tree to look a bit thin. Here are some tips to get a fuller, healthier looking tree.
- Start at the bottom at the back of the branch toward the trunk. Work one branch at a time and spread the tips apart from each other. Think up and out. You can go back and tweak every other tip to go up or down off the branch’s basic vertical axis. Remember, in nature, each branch and branch tip is seeking light, so if the tree is getting good light from three sides, the branches and tips will spread out and up. This process is easiest if you fluff each section after inserting the section and plugging it into the correct area as specified in the user manual, moving your way up the tree.
- If you have a large tree, and it was packed away very tightly, you may want to enlist some help. A tree that has been “fluffed” will have much more interesting and realistic texture than one that is put together right out of the box. You can also see how fluffing the inner branches contribute to the overall “fullness” of the tree. That’s why fluffing the outer few inches of the tree after it’s been assembled is less effective.
Fluffing does take time, but a properly shaped tree can make all the difference! Check out this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0N0NPrefhY&feature=emb_logo video available.

Depending on the model and size chosen, decorating a Christmas tree can take about 30-40 minutes including adding decorations. If it’s just to set up a pre-lit tree, depending on number of tips, can be very quick. Also we have one-plug trees and pre-shaped trees and pop-up trees that would just take less than 5mins. However, the final effect depends on the position of the branches, so this stage needs special attention. Tips can be laid in every direction.
Tree height is measured from the floor to the top of the tree, while tree width is measured at the base of the tree by pulling branches at the widest point flat. The branches are then measured tip to tip to determine tree width.
That depends on how the tree is shaped, the bottom branches will be approximately 9″-13″ inches from the floor.
We do not recommend adding extra electrical devices to the tree as it may cause the fuses to overload. The use of any adapters on the tree will void the warranty.
Our trees are intended for indoor use only, unless specified for indoor and outdoor use. Placing an indoor tree outdoors is dangerous if there’s especially indoor lights on it, also will void the warranty.
While it is not recommended, you can remove the lights, however, you may damage the wires in the process. Please take note of the warnings and labeling regarding proper use of lights.
We do not recommend adding other electrical accessories to the tree. However, if you choose to add other electrical accessories to your tree, please follow the below guidelines:
- Ensure you follow all manufacturers’ directions for the product.
- DO NOT plug any accessory item (not provided with the tree/light set) into the lights or vice versa. Only plug the lights directly into a power outlet.
- It is not recommended to use any extension cords or power strips as they may overload the circuit and/or may not deliver enough power for the lights.
Also the use of any third-party products with the tree/lights will void the warranty.
Yes, all our artificial large trees are reinforced with steel and are outfitted to hold heavy ornaments, except for Fiber Optic Tree, small trees, porch trees and trees w/ wrapped or pull down branches.
Usually the lights are enough for this tree, in case you want it to be more colorful, We recommend to attach some light weight lights/decorations on it.
Please follow the function instructions specified on the package or instruction manual.
Yes, you can add extra lights or decorations on the Artificial Tree.
Rotate section until it fits. Take out the upper section of the tree, turn and re-seat the section repeatedly until it fits securely into the next section.
Make sure you have all of the correct sections and set them up together correctly based upon diagram in the manual. The sections are arranged from largest (bottom) to smallest (top). You can verify sections by the numbered/lettered tags.
Identify the correct poles by looking at end of each pole. There is only one way to assemble these correctly.
The stand likely isn’t opened all the way. Rotate and slide legs until the holes line up, then insert the stand key and screw tightly while the bottom section is inserted into the stand. Place the tree stand on a level surface.
The sections need lubrication. Locate the division between sections, put a little silicon lubricant in the division and rotate the sections in opposite directions to loosen the connection.
The rest LED lights will stay lit even one LED bulb burns out. In case one incandescent bulb burns out, the other bulbs in that circuit will go out instead of the whole string of lights.
There are 4 styles of lights.
Incandescent: Standard lighting using a filament that glows when a current is put through. Incandescent bulbs can be large (C9) or small (mini-lights).
Standard LED: Unlike traditional miniature incandescent bulbs, they are illuminated by the movement of electrons in a semi-conductor material causing an internal filament to glow. LED lights are efficient and don’t produce much heat or waste electricity.
Dual Color LED: Same as standard LED lights, however the bulbs can change between clear or multi color dependent on the customer’s setup.
Color changing LED: The LED bulbs can change color continuously.
All of our lights are professionally hand-strung to minimize any appearance of wires.
LED lights use only 10-20% of the energy that incandescent bulbs do, saving you power costs and attributing to a longer life span. Our LEDs share the same warm white color with incandescent bulbs, and are a bit brighter in contrast.
Limited warranty as stated in the packaging or check with the store from which you purchased for further assistance.
Please check to make sure that all plugs are properly connected and plugged in.(if the tree comes with a foot pedal, try stepping on the on/off button) Refer to assembly guide for instructions.
Although treated to prevent rust, if exposed to moisture, the steel wire in a tree may begin to rust. We suggest a light brushing of the branches with a soft nylon bristle brush. You should be careful not to scratch the center tree pole with assembling/disassembling the tree. Always store the tree in a dry location, and if possible, in a tree bag.
With proper care, your tree can last for many seasons. Some customers have successfully used their tree for more than 10 years!
Lights are subject to the amount of use.
It is highly recommended that you unplug Christmas tree lights before leaving home or going to bed. After the season, pack the tree in the original box or in a Christmas tree storage bag and store in a cool, dry place. Please see manual for care and safety instructions.
Hooked Trees
- Before you take down and disassemble the tree, remove all decorations and lights that you added to the tree.
- Remove each individual branch. Fold up the tips to compact the branch and allow it to be packed efficiently. Carefully place each branch back into the original box or tree bag. We recommend using the original box, tree bag or suitable container to store the tree.
- After all branches have been taken off, remove the tree center pole from the stand. Separate the tree pole into sections (as it came originally) and place into the box. Fold the tree stand and put that away. Tape box shut to keep out dust and insects.
- Keep in a cool, dry location. Ensure the storage area is free of water and moisture to prevent mold and mildew from accumulating on the tree. The storage area should be climate controlled so the tree doesn’t get too hot or too cold. Extreme hot or cold temperatures may cause product damage.
Hinged Trees
- Before you take down and disassemble the tree, remove all decorations and lights that you added to the tree.
- For lighted trees, detach the light connections between tree sections as you separate the sections. Lifting up the sections slightly will reveal the strands that need to be disconnected.
- Remove each section. Gently lift each section of the tree and remove the bottom section from the tree base. Fold each branch up so that the branches are parallel to the tree pole. Compress individual tips as needed to compact the section so as to fit into the storage box or container. Fold and put the stand into the box. When packing up the tree, ensure there is no strain or stress on the light strings so as to ensure they do not get cut, frayed or damaged. Tape box shut to keep out dust and insects. We recommend using the original box, tree bag or suitable container to store the tree.
- Keep in a cool, dry location. Ensure that the storage area is free of water and moisture to prevent mold and mildew from accumulating. The storage area should also climate controlled so the tree doesn’t get too hot or too cold. Extreme hot or cold temperatures may cause product damage. On white or flocked trees, heat and or humidity may cause the tree to fade or discolor.
Limited warranty as stated in the packaging or check with the store from which you purchased.
